Ken Rose, in typical Gemini fashion, comfortably bounces between songwriting, producing, engineering, and performing. Influenced by "music from the heart" and inspired by a wide range of diverse artists including Led-Zep, The Beatles, Sigur Ros, Eels, 60s and 70s soul and R & B, indie rock/pop, classic singer/songwriters, and punk, etc. Ken's main focus is to find the ultimate marriage between creativity and commerciality. Ken's philosophy is "if you have a great song and a competent person to deliver it the rest should be an enjoyable and productive process for both the artist and the client."

Ken plays guitar, bass, piano and assorted percussion and is an engineer, using tape and Pro Tools.

Ken has worked as a staff songwriter for, among others, Warner-Chappell, EMI, Famous Music Corp., and Giorgio Moroder Music. As a staff writer his biggest success came with Roch Voisines's self titled platinum records in France, Belgium and Canada. Throughout his career Ken has always been interested in "old school" artist development - realising each artists' personality and unique vibe and creating original music with them. In 2006 Ken decided to make a full time move in that direction, with both established and newcomer artists and bands.

Since that change in course Ken has been involved with diverse projects including the Youth produced debut record from Helen Boulding, Teitur's first two records, Kip Winger's new solo record, Lou Rhodes, and new records(TBR in 2009) from A & G Records artist Betty Steeles, and Sony/ATV artist Kate Daisy Grant. Ken is also active in smaller territories with top 10 success in Poland with Kasia Kowalska, and top 5 with the Pop Idol project, and 2 tracks on the new Disney sensation Jacopo Sarno in Italy. Ken has also released two of his personal projects, Below-Fi and HAM. He has a stable of new acts which he develops for assorted record labels and publishers.

Ken's strength lies in his ability to start from scratch with an artist and immerse himself in their world. Whether he continues to perform and produce or leaves the project after the writing phase, the result is a batch of songs that leaves both record label and artist satisfied. His human approach and creative vibe has been compared to that of 60s and 70s acts, where the producer became an "inspirational creative member" of the project without leaving a stamp on it – a trait that Ken feels is missing in a lot of contemporary creative partnerships.

Ken's studio is located within Livingston Studios in London and has a living room vibe conducive to freedom and creativity. When the project reaches fruition he spends most of his time downstairs in one of Livingston's two world class facilities. This bouncing between studios gets the best of both audio worlds and is budget friendly for both Ken's established and newcomer clients. Ken's model is right in step with the new music business model of combining quality and cost effectiveness.

Besides his work as a writer and producer Ken performs with a wide variety of artists, both in the studio and on stage. For 2 years Ken was a member of Marianne Faithfull's band on her 2007-8 "Songs Of Innocence And Experience" World Tour. Ken will be on tour in 2009 with A & G artist Betty Steeles and Sony artist Kate Daisy Grant, for whom he has produced their debut records.

Ken is in love with and fascinated by the creative process and is at home in most genres, whether for album/single projects, advertising projects or film and television projects. Ken has written and produced advertising spots for Adidas, Lee Jeans, MTV, VH-1, VIVA Music Television and has scored music for various film projects. Ken's most recent film contribution is music supervisor for the film Mr. Right, which will air in America in November 2009 on MTV Networks Logo TV. His collaborations with HAM, Kate Daisy Grant and Below–Fi along with tracks from Rufus Wainright, George Michael and The Working Hour will be featured in the film.

Ken is an active lecturer, giving seminars and masterclasses that have been inspirational and productive for aspiring artists, musicians, engineers and producers alike and is a tutor and regular guest lecturer at SAE, Brighton Institute Of Modern Music and Academy Of Contemporary Music (Guilford), and other accredited universities in England, Germany and America. Ken also hosts four intensive weekend writer workshops, selected by audition only. Ken has worked internationally with diverse youth groups ranging from 8 years old to higher education.
